JAPANESE JOURNEY: LAST STOP, OSAKA.
Before heading back to Nice & Tel Aviv, we had to make one final stop... OSAKA. The city was absolutely incredible, such a colorful and vibrant place.
We spent 4 days in Osaka, enjoying the vibe, its incredible shopping, cute owls bar and gastronomic experiences. Osaka is well known for its great cuisine and we had a delicious time.
We stayed in the district of Namba, which is pretty crowded and animated. Namba is most popular for its entertainment and famous for its crab restaurant: Dotonbori.
At first glance, when you see a gigantic Crab hanging over the entrance of the restaurant it seems odd... but once you are inside eating on the tatamis (a type of mat used as a flooring material in traditional Japanese-style rooms) with your soft King Crab, you realize that this is the ultimate Osaka experience.
Since we visited the fish market in Tokyo, we also wanted to visit the one in Osaka: Fukushima Fish Market. We truly had an exceptional time there. We must confess that the Osaka fish market was even better than in Tokyo. There were no crowds and the people were easier to talk to and photograph. We were lucky enough to find ourselves alone in the alleys, greeted by the kindness of some fisherman who showed us their fresh catch of the night.
We had a "private cooking show" where they rolled fresh sushi right in front of us and our curious cameras. We sampled a Red Tuna picked up earlier that morning. They were kind enough to prepare us the best Sushi & Sashimi we've ever tasted. The freshness of the fish was unbelievable.
We finished our tour of Japan wandering through the hipster neighborhoods of Osaka: Orange Street and the gigantic mall center: Grand Front Osaka. We admired the design of the place, which undoubtedly looks like a futuristic shopping mall! Grand Front Osaka and its department stores were nothing like we've ever seen before... and trust us, we know our malls since we love shopping!
Japan was amazing! We had the best time discovering the life & culture of the Japanese. We can not wait to come back for more exciting and unique adventures.
This morning we went to Osaka Fish Market, we were lucky enough to meet this nice fisherman who cut those excellent sashimi and fresh sushi for us !
